About the Wayne County Democratic Committee

The Democratic Party

Over two hundred years ago, the Party's founders decided that wealth and social status were not an entitlement to rule.They believed that wisdom and compassion could be found within every individual and a stable government must be built upon a broad popular base. At the start of the 21st century, the Democratic Party can look back on a proud history, not only of a political organization but of a national vision.The vision is based on the strength and power of millions of economically empowered, socially diverse and politically active Americans.

Wayne County Democratic Committee

The Committee is the official organization representing registered, enrolled Democrats residing in Wayne County. The committee consists of the officers of the county committee and election district representatives from each town in the County.

Mission

The mission of the Democratic Committee of Wayne County is to ensure the continuing success of the Democratic Party, and to provide the best and most responsible government for the people of Wayne County.

Meetings

The Wayne County Democratic Committee meets the third Wednesday each month at the time and location posted on the calender. General meetings are open to registered, enrolled Democrats.The executive committee (officers, town chairs and state representatives) meets the second Saturday of the month as posted on the calender.
